West Village
- Affordable, on-campus housing for approximately 500 faculty/staff families and 3,000 students
- Located on 224 acres of vacant, UC Davis-owned land southwest of Highway 113 and Russell Blvd.
- Automobile, transit, bicycle and pedestrian networks integrate West Village with main campus and Davis
The goal of this mixed-use neighborhood is to provide affordable and conveniently located housing for approximately 3,000 upper-division undergraduate and graduate students, and 500 faculty, staff and their families. It will also provide a variety of facilities and amenities for the campus and the community.
In November of 2003, the UC Regents approved the master plan for an on-campus residential community for UC Davis faculty, staff and students.
For details about the West Village project, a copy of the master plan is available online for review (follow the link below). It includes such subjects as design philosophy, proposed types of housing, features of the neighborhood, environmental considerations, and more.
